Scholarship Funds Available at JVS High-school and college students in the Jewish Community can now apply for a wide range of scholarships through JVS, the vocational division of Jewish Family and Children’s Service of Minneapolis. Last year, JVS awarded scholarships to nearly 80% of applicants. Along with administering scholarships, JVS offers professional education planning to help students and their families ensure a successful college experience. Applications are available online at www.jvsmn.org or by calling JVS at 952-591-0300. The following funds are available for the 2007 - 2008 academic school year. Deadline for applications is April 1, 2007. EDWARD E. GROSMANN / I. S. JOSEPH SCHOLARSHIP FUND provides awards on a need and merit basis for students pursuing or considering a career in Jewish communal service. Applicants must be junior or senior undergraduate or graduate students. GALINSON FAMILY SCHOLARSHIP FUND provides need-based grants to students pursuing career-directed degrees or vocational training programs. MORRIS BERENBERG FAMILY SCHOLARSHIP FUND provides need-based post-secondary educational grants to the Jewish and general community. MARGE BAKER MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP FUND provides grants for graduate degrees in vocational services or psychology. GUITA BEARMAN GORDON SCHOLARSHIP FUND provides grants to women entering the rabbinate or cantorate. SEWELL GORDON SCHOLARSHIP FUND provides merit and need-based educational grants. SHERI AND LES BILLER FAMILY SCHOLARSHIP FUND provides need-based grants to immigrants pursuing undergraduate or graduate degrees. SID AND JOANIE LEVINSOHN SCHOLARSHIP FUND provides need-based educational grants for post-secondary students. ROBIN FAMILY UNIVERSITY MERIT SCHOLARSHIP FUND for educational expenses based on merit and need. DR. IAN SWATEZ MEDICAL SCHOLARSHIP FUND to support deserving medical students based on merit and need.
