JVS Minnesota Division Director visits IDEL In Argentina

Larry Greenbaum, JVS Division Director, visited IDEL, a new organization in Argentina that employs people with developmental disabilities.

IDEL’s mission is to create a place for people with special needs that helps individuals develop their full potential, while providing access to the job market and giving people an opportunity to support themselves in a dignified way.

Larry and his wife Alice spent a day in Argentina touring IDEL and meeting leaders of the Jewish Community. IDEL is supported by Fundacion Judaica.

IDEL is the first organization in Argentina to provide employment for people with developmental disabilities.

Executive Director. Ms. Goldschmidt’s unique vision and pioneering spirit
created this agency with help from local leaders and advisors from IAJVS, the International Association of Jewish Vocational Services.

Trainees Needed for CVS/Pharmacy
 Photo Lab Technician Program

If you are looking for a new career, you could train with JVS and CVS/pharmacy to become a qualified photo lab technician. Your tuition will cover a 6 week training session that begins with 2 weeks of classroom training followed by 4 weeks of training onsite at various CVS locations throughout the Cities. The successful candidate should possess the following:

  • Strongly motivated to work
  • Flexible work schedule
  • Dependable
  • Ability to deal with the public

After the 6 week program, candidates will earn a Certificate of Training, following that many candidates will be hired by a CVS/pharmacy, others will receive assistance with securing a photo lab job through another employer.

Minneapolis Tuition Assistance Program Renewed for Second Year

JVS was asked to manage the Minneapolis Employment and Training Program tuition assistance program for a second year. After successfully managing the Individual Referral Program (IRP) last year, JVS will continue to match qualified applicants with funds and programs that lead to sustainable employment. IRP provides funds for tuition, books and tools for vocational and technical training.
